CDC Therapist modeling activity for a child

At CDC, ABA therapy is individualized to the child rather than delivered as a one-size-fits-all program. Following assessment, our team identifies meaningful goals based on the child's developmental profile, daily needs and priorities identified together with the family.

Intervention may focus on communication, functional skills, learning readiness, emotional and behavioral regulation, social interaction, independence and skills that support participation at home, school and in the community.

Our ABA services are delivered within CDC's multidisciplinary model, allowing collaboration with Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychology and other members of the child's team when appropriate.

How ABA Therapy Works at CDC

01 — Assessment & Understanding
We begin by understanding the child's strengths, needs, current skills and priorities through assessment, observation and discussion with the family.

02 — Individualized Goals
Meaningful and measurable goals are developed around the child's communication, learning, behavior, social participation and everyday independence.

03 — Individualized Intervention
ABA sessions are delivered according to the child's individual program, using evidence-based strategies to teach new skills and support meaningful progress.

04 — Progress, Collaboration & Review
Progress is monitored regularly and programs are adjusted as the child develops. Families, caregivers, schools and other members of the multidisciplinary team are involved when appropriate.

Parent and caregiver involvement is an important part of our approach, helping skills learned in therapy carry over into everyday life.
